What exactly is a VTU Scheme & Syllabus?
Think of the Scheme as the “Big Picture.” It’s a document released by the university for every regulation (like the 2021, 2022, or 2025 schemes). It tells you which subjects you’ll study in each semester, how many credits each subject carries, and most importantly how the marks are split between your internals (CIE) and externals (SEE).
The Syllabus, on the other hand, is the “Deep Dive.” It breaks down every single subject into modules. It lists out exactly which topics you need to study, which textbooks are recommended by VTU, and what the learning objectives are for that specific course.
Why do you actually need them?
Most students wait until the first internal to look at the syllabus. Here’s why downloading it on day one makes a difference.
